We want to say a massive thank you to the friends and family of the late Andrew ‘Girdy’ Girdwood for their generous £3,000 donation to the Victoria Hospice in Kirkcaldy.
Mr Girdwood was a much loved member of the community, serving with Fife Police where he reached the rank of Detective Chief Inspector.
Having been cared for in the Victoria Hospice the friends and family of Mr Girdwood set about raising money to make a donation in his honour.
Friend Gary Combe ran the Dundee Half Marathon, known as the 'Half DRAM', on 7th July 2019 with his ‘Having a Half DRAM on GIRDY’ efforts raising £2,000.
A further donation from the Girdwood family brought the total raised for the Hospice to £3,000.
Gary and Andrew's son, Sam, visited the Hospice last week to hand over the cheque to Senior Charge Nurse, Scott Sweaton.
Thank you all so much for such a kind gesture.
