Julie Farr is NHS Fife’s new Charity Manager for the Fife Health Board Endowment Fund. Julie joins us from the not for profit sector where she has been involved in a number of charities. Latterly she was the Chief Executive Officer of Dundee Social Enterprise Network which is similar to a chamber of commerce. It supported and connected around 70 social enterprises in Dundee. Previous to that Julie managed The Ecology Centre in Kinghorn which uses experience of the natural environment to improve people’s quality of life, achieved through training programmes, environmental education and volunteering.
In this newly created role she hopes to work with staff and Trustees to lead and develop the Endowment Fund. In the last five years the Fife Health Board Endowment fund has awarded over £4 million to a range of causes and initiatives including Queen Margaret community garden, a premature baby simulator and bereavement bags which are used to return a deceased person’s belongings.
