Sexual health is an important aspect of overall health and well-being, and it is crucial for the LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer) community to have access to accurate information and resources in order to make informed decisions about their sexual health. However, due to societal stigma, discrimination, and a lack of education and resources, the LGBTQ+ community often faces unique challenges when it comes to sexual health. Research shows that LGBTQ+ people experience greater health inequalities compared to heterosexual and cisgender people. 

At Sexual Health Fife, we understand that it may be more difficult to access sexual health services as part of the LGBTQ+ community. We recognise the importance of creating an environment where those who access our services feel welcome and able to discuss different aspects of their sexuality, which in turn can lead to better sexual health outcomes.

As an integrated sexual health service with services across different localities in Fife, we aim to support our LGBTQ+ community with their sexual and reproductive health needs including; STI testing and treatment, provision of contraception, Pre Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP), and vaccinations amongst many other services. All our staff endeavour to deliver confidential, non- judgemental and non- discriminatory care to this community

Sexual Health Fife Celebrates Pride 2024

The month of June saw the celebration of Pride events across Fife. This was a time for joyous celebration of how far the LGBTQ+ community and their allies have come. It was also a time to honour the countless sacrifices made by many before us who have paved the way for the broader cultural acceptance that we enjoy today. Many members of the Sexual Health Fife team were in attendance at Fife Pride this year to celebrate and honour the achievements of our local LGBTQ+ community. We were delighted to march in solidarity alongside the LGBTQ+ community in Fife while promoting our service as being inclusive of  all gender identities and sexual orientations. It is one of our key aims to ensure the LGBTQ+ community of Fife community can lead healthy and fulfilling sexual lives.
