Referral routes
Children aged 8 weeks to less than 18 years will be invited for vaccination through a national surveillance system. Adults can ask at their GP practice about any vaccines they may require. Vaccinations are delivered at clinics throughout Fife by the Community Immunisation Team. Your appointment letter will detail the location of the clinic and the time to attend your appointment.
NB. Please do not arrive out with your allotted appointment time.

Immunisation practices are changing across Scotland; giving vaccines is now being viewed as a specialised role. In-depth training and knowledge are required and now most vaccines are given by specialist Immunisation Nurses.
The Immunisation Team has been gradually growing, developing and transferring vaccine programmes into the service. Now all vaccines delivered under the routine Scottish Childhood Immunisation Programme are carried out by the Immunisation Team. Similarly, adult vaccinations are no longer given by your GP as all vaccines are now delivered by the Community Immunisation team.
Shingles vaccination
As with other vaccines, the shingles vaccine works by helping to reduce your risk of developing shingles. If you do get shingles, it can reduce how serious the symptoms will be.

RSV vaccination
RSV is a common and highly infectious respiratory virus that affects the breathing system. While most RSV infections are usually mild, it can cause severe illness in babies under one year of age and some older adults.
