Managing your diet, lifestyle and medication is important in the treatment of diabetes. This will allow you to get on with what matters to you.
You may have already made some changes to your diet and lifestyle, based on information you have been given or found. This is one of the most important things you can do to stay in the best of health. You are the person who will decide how to look after your diabetes, along with help from family or friends and your healthcare team.
Dietitians are experts in nutrition. They apply science and evidence to your individual circumstances. They aim to prevent or treat disease and improve your health and wellbeing. They will work with you to explore what matters to you most. A plan will be formed that will support you to make appropriate lifestyle and food choices.

This is good if you prefer not to read through a lot of information. These videos have been available free during the coronovirus pandemic. Pages 1-4 include the topics of interest to someone new to diabetes. The videos have been made for the health service in Wales so information about services may be slightly different in Scotland.

There are also details of dates of local diabetes events, when these resume after the pandemic, held at several sites across Fife.
