The most important person in managing your health and wellbeing is you! Physiotherapists are committed to helping people of all ages and abilities live active and healthy lives. There are many lifestyle choices that affect your health and wellbeing and this page will help you make informed choices.
Physical activity
As Physiotherapists we are enthusiastic about taking part in regular physical activity and exercise.
Physical activity has many recognised mental and physical health benefits, including managing stress, weight loss and lowering your risk of Type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and musculoskeletal pains.
For adults the national guidelines recommend at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity exercise per week or 75 minutes of vigorous intensity exercise.
The useful video below explains why it is important to be active.
