Much of the information shared here will be sent to you directly by the Postgraduate Co-ordinator before you start; however, we wanted to provide you with this page as a reference point.
If you’d like to ask us any questions, we’re happy to help. You’ll find our team on Level 2, Phase 2 of the Victoria Hospital in the Education Centre
TDCI happens 4 times a year; always on the first Wednesday in February, April, August and December.
Trainee Doctors Corporate Induction (TDCI)
Lecture arrangements during the pandemic
During the pandemic, we have made the lectures that you would usually receive in person available to watch below.
What we do still offer in person to those who haven’t been with us before (or for quite some time) is Information Systems training - or IS training. These in-person sessions are delivered in the Lecture Hall of the Education Centre (VHK) over the Wednesday and Thursday of induction week. You will be sent a copy of the IS Training schedule via email ahead of your start.
IT logins and temporary ID staff passes
Your IT logins and temporary ID badges can be collected from your departments on your first day, unless you are invited to attend the IS training session on the Wednesday morning - those people will be given their logins and badges there. All of your IT logins will be created ahead of your start date, but we still require you to complete a SARF in order to sign off on the creation of your logins and also for password recovery security purposes. You can download and complete a SARF HERE - remember to have it signed by a manager/Consultant supervisor and send to the email address listed on the form. Your temporary ID badge will identify you as a trainee doctor and give you access around the hospital for the first week of your rotation. At some point during your first week, you should see Security about getting your permanent photo ID made.
You must call Security ext. 8888 during the week to arrange a time to come and get your ID made
Opening hours: 10.00 - 12.00 and 13.30 - 15.00. Please DO NOT attempt to have your ID made on the day of induction unless you are based at a remote site (i.e. anywhere other than Victoria Hospital) or are starting on nights or AU1 shifts. Impromptu visits to Security for ID badges will result in you being turned away. Remember: all important info will be emailed to you in advance of your start with us. Please take time to peruse our helpful documents for more information.
