The newsletter issued quarterly and created by Senior Oncology Research Nurse, Fiona Adam. The RIK Newsletter was first proposed in the 2018/2019 R&D Strategy at the Operational Group Meeting. Its first issue was published in Oct 2018 and has had ten issues distributed to date. It was recently revamped in May 2021, as is now accessible via Microsoft SWAY.

August's focus is on the world of Oncology. We're lucky to be joined by visiting specialist Dr Sally Clive, Consultant Medical Oncologist specialising in colorectal cancers and cancers of unknown primary (CUP). In Fife, Sally is PI for the ARIEL, FOxTROT 2 and FOxTROT 3 colorectal trials and is Colorectal Lead Investigator for the ADD Aspirin trial. Read more in this month's edition.

This month's focus is on all things Orthopaedic as we celebrate the opening of the new National Treatment Centre - Fife Orthopaedics with the Orthopaedics Research Nursing Team, revisit the Orthopaedic Study and hear from Mr Phil Walmsley, Consultant in Orthopaedic Surgery, active in clinical research as a local Principal Investigator (PI) for a number of NIHR sponsored multi-centre trials.
